The North American KubeCon + CloudNativeCon 2023 event was held in Chicago from Nov. 6 to 9. The hybrid conference consisted of more than 80 different sessions across 10+ tracks and dove into all topics in the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) purview.

Experts shared their knowledge, and keynote speakers from CNCF, Red Hat, VMware, Microsoft and others hosted discussions that focused on the state of the cloud in 2023 and beyond.

Attendees preparing for North America KubeCon + CloudNativeCon 2023 will want some insights on the various news related to the cloud and announcements from the European version in April. Developer training and the ongoing changes in the DevOps world are at the forefront of discussions that attendees should be aware of. Since April, vendors have also made moves regarding their build versus buy discussions. Also, FinOps and generative AI are two hot topics that will be front and center for conference attendees.

3What happened during the European conference?

CloudNativeCon featured numerous sessions on Kubernetes-related topics, such as integrations, scaling and networking. Observability, cybersecurity and GitOps were also high on the agenda, with sessions on the OpenTelemetry observability framework and software supply chain security. Also covered were talks focusing on climate and sustainability in cloud-native development, as well as community building and diversity in open source.
